Who can get a card?
Notices to pick up cards are sent via e-mail and the cards are delivered via web browser & world wide web so make sure that everyone you send a card to will have access to both email and the world wide web. Just about any web browsers will work to pick up a card but some do a better job than others at playing the music. Please read the music question below.

Why don’t I have music on my card?
Just about any browser will work to pick up a card but some do a better job than others with music. This service is optimized for good music playback with Netscape 3.0 or higher and Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or higher.  If you are using one of the browsers mentioned above and do not have music on the card that you are picking the most common cause is the card sender not selecting a music card when the card was filled out.

 How long do I have to pick up my card?
Most card are kept on the server for 60 days.  Cards older than that are cleared from the system to make room for new cards.

How long will it take for my card to be delivered?
Email notices are sent out immediately (when you see the "Your Card Was Sent" screen) so it only takes as long as it takes for that email message to work it way via the Internet to the card recipient. This process usually takes a matter of seconds but on extremely rare occasions has been known to take hours or even a day or two. Delivery of the email notice is at the mercy of the Internet so there is nothing we can do to improve poor performance of the world's email servers.

Will I know if the card I sent was picked up?
If you select the notify option you will get an official notice from AdventurePostcards.com. You will get an email notice every time a card is viewed to if a recipiant looks at your card five times you will get five email notices. When you send a card it is a good idea to double check the recipient's email address to be sure it is correct. If the recipient's email address is not correct the email notice will not reach the recipient and they will not get your Christmas Card.

Can I send my card to more than one person at a time?
Yes. On the page where you select your card you can specify up to 10 recipiants of your card. If 10 people isn't enough then send the card to yourself and you will get a card URL in the mail. Use your email address book to forward the card URL to as many people as you like.

Is this service really free?
Yes this service is really free to use. How can we do this? Yes there is a sizable amount of expense involved in maintaining the hundreds of megabytes of postcards and the hundreds of gigabytes of internet bandwidth required to transfer them to the users. This service can only be provided for free because of the financial support of our advertisers who's banner ads you have surely seen on our pages. These banner ads only provide income for our service if visitors like yourself click on them. What if my card E-Mail notice doesn't go to the recipient?
It is possible for Internet Service Providers to have their SPAM protection software set so aggressively that it can block the outgoing postcard E-mail coming from our site. We have seen this happen with both AOL and MSN Hotmail and we can't do much to counteract this on our end. There are two ways that we know of to fix the problem when you notice that it has occurred.

#1. The recipient can white list AdventurePostcards.com
A SPAM filtered card notice will probably go to the recipients junk mail folder. The recipient should be able to go into the junk mail folder, select the message and then white list it. MSN for example has a button at the top of the message which says, "This is not Junk" and at the bottom which says, "Not Junk Mail". Pressing ether of these buttons should allow all future mall from AdventurePostcards to come through correctly.

#2. The sender can send the card to themselves and then forward it to the recipient.
The second option is to address your card with the recipient's name but put your E-mail address in both the sender and recipient email address boxes. This doesn't affect the card at all and the result is that you will receive the E-mail notice instead of the recipient. When you receive the email notice simply forward it on to the desired recipient(s). Since the notice is now coming from you instead of us there is little chance the recipient ISP is going to block it as junk mail. If you don't receive the card notice when you do this then you may need to go back and do step one to receive the email notice from your ISP.
